Over the span of 2 days, 8 brave members endured cold weather and exhaustion to bring high-speed internet service to the club. The new Cogeco UltraFibre service will bring our previous slow speeds of 2mb/s up to blazing fast speeds of 80mb/s. The original price quoted by Cogeco for this installation was around the $14,000 mark. As a result of this work party (organized by Bob Dumond), the installation charges were reduced to $1,380.00 and with the $50/mth savings (through dropping Bell), the installation will be essentially free by the end of our 36 month commitment.
So next season when you’re surfing the net at luxury speeds, please think about the members who worked hard to make it happen…
